Intersection

Being in the same reality

Near enough to be at the same place

But still far enough to be together

The distance does nothing to us

It’s only a mere fence that blocks the view

But it’s the people who keep us apart

Separated for another day, another year

I’ve lost count

Still we tend to find our places intertwined

We cross paths like we’re neighbors trudging the same path

still it’s a long leap from where we are now

to where we’re supposed to be

do you presume this to be our reality?

Or does our worlds cross path

but in a separate dimension, different realities

Rarities so it seems to have a glimpse of you

To gain a moment without sacrificing another

A harsh trade, a difficult exchange

Thus we turn our backs to each other

And just wait for the next opportunity

That our paths will cross again at the next intersection
